Troutfest is a fly Fishing expo and a fundraising event that is held in Townsend, TN located at the foothills of The Great Smoky Mountains of Tennessee.

The best fly tyers from the Smoky Mountain area flock to this event to demonstrate their skills to a large audience. The event lasts 2 days. The admission to this exposition is free and is usually held on The Saturday and Sunday of the second week in May. and they fly tyers do specialize in different types of fly typing (trout, bass, panfish and saltwater).

The fly tyers demonstrate in 4 hour shifts, 8 at a time all weekend. Interaction with the fly tyers is encouraged and you can ask all the questions you might have.

Also live bluegrass music will be performed, along with some of the best southern food.
Townsend is an ideal place for fly fishing as it provides over 800 miles of streams holding rainbow, brook and brown trout.

A casting contest is held to determine who is the best of caster among the participants. You will have a lot of fun and the entry fee is only $20.
