Ober Gatlinburg Ski Resort is a five-acre amusement park in the non ski season and a several hundred-acre amusement park/ski resort with eight slopes in the winter. It is the only ski resort in the State of Tennessee and one of the largest in the Southeast. Ober is the counter Balance of Dollywood in Pigeon Forge.
The amusement park features America's Newest Aerial Tramway, Scenic Chairlift, Indoor Ice Skating, Arcade and Redemption Center, Bungee Run, Alpine Slide, Water Rides, Wildlife Encounter, Kiddie Land, and Zeke's Place Shooting Range.
The Aerial Tramway is located at traffic light #9 in downtown Gatlinburg and features 2 counter balanced vehicles that can transport up to 120 people. The 10 minute journey from downtown to The Ski resort cover 2 miles of amazing views of the Smokies. It is faster and safer than driving 7 miles to get to the resort.
There's no admission charge to the mall itself, and the cost of most of the amusements is payable in coupons purchased from a central ticket office adjacent to the tram dock.
The Scenic Chairlift provides you with an unforgettable tour of the Great Smoky Mountains. The views are spectacular.
The winter season starts in early to mid December and ends in early march.
Ober Gatlinburg is open year-round excluding maintenance shutdowns between April 26th and May 6th. from 9:30 A.M. to 9:40 P.M Monday to Thursday, 7:30 A.M to 10:40 PM on Friday and Saturday, and 7:30 AM to 6:20 PM on Sunday.
