Herbert Holt Park is an award-winning facility located before Cooters, as you are coming into Gatlinburg north of light #1. The quite park offers many diverse activities. A covered pavilion with a huge barbecue grill for sheltered cooking attracts a lot of the residents of the city of Gatlinburg. Also available are picnic tables with individual cooking grills along the stream. You will also find children playgrounds and horseshoe pits. A short hiking trail provides a nice walk among the trees .
The Little Pigeon River at Herbert Holt Park features the only fast water handicap fishing pier. It is shaped in the form of a concrete ramp that winds from the parking lot along the river, meeting all wheelchair slope requirements to a concrete pier.
This award-winning facility is one of the site of the old sewer plant at the north end of the city and is only visible from the spur.
The facility is equipped with restrooms and individual cooking grills along the stream.
You can reserve the covered pavilion of a $35 fee for up to four hours and $10 for any amount of time over that.
